More bikes in the streets of Paris
Paris is taking bold steps to reduce traffic and improve quality of life. Recently, the city introduced measures to make daily commuting less stressful, with an emphasis on sustainability and reduced pollution. The focus is on shifting from cars to more eco-friendly options, such as cycling, walking, and public transport.
Reducing car traffic in the city center
A major part of the new initiative restricts car access in central areas of Paris, making way for expanded bike lanes and pedestrian paths. By reducing car lanes, the city hopes to alleviate congestion and encourage residents and visitors to choose greener options.
More bike-friendly streets
The city of Paris made huge steps to make biking more safe and comfortable! There are now dedicated bike lanes throughout the city. Rue de Rivoli is a perfect example where the bike lane is twice as big as the car lane. This, along with plenty of spots to park your bike safely. These enhancements make Paris a much more pleasant city to commute by bike, encouraging more people to embrace this efficient and sustainable form of transport.
Purchase subsidy for bicycles
As part of its policy to develop cycling throughout the region, Ile-de-France Mobilités provides assistance to buy different types of bicycle. For example, with a Cargo eBike you can get a maximum of 50% of the purchase price (including VAT) of the bike and safety accessories, up to a limit of €600. The bikes of Pharfour have a cargo certification.
